Welcome to Holiday Inspirational Ikebana!
December’s Theme: Moribana
You will be exploring one of the many styles of Ikebana, Moribana. This style focuses on a more natural appearance. In this workshop you will be practicing the slanting style of Moribana.
You will need to bring your own shallow vase for this workshop as well as a kenzan (floral frog). If you are unable to bring your own, you may purchase them at our gift shop.

The Holiday Season is here!
The art of ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) always embraces the season.
Whether in the act of creating, giving an arrangement as gift, or simply contemplating your display on your table or windowsill, ikebana can lift the spirits and touch the heart.
This special holiday ikebana workshop includes three parts. First, Ping Wei sensei will discuss the principles of ikebana while demonstrating examples of flower setting. Second, participants will make their own creations based on the principles. Then Ping Wei sensei will conduct an evaluation of each participants arrangements to help everyone further understand Ikebana aesthetics.

Discussion of the principles of ikebana used in the class
Demonstration of arranging using said principles and various flower arrangement examples
Guests arrange their own creations

Location
The Garden is located at 1125 North 3rd Avenue, between 3rd Avenue and Latham (2 blocks North of Roosevelt). Parking is available at the garden.
When riding the Light Rail, exit at the Central and Roosevelt stop. The Garden is located on the west side of the rail, 0.3 miles from the station; it is directly behind the Irish Cultural Center (1106 N. Central Ave, Phoenix), just north of Portland Avenue. The Garden entrance is across the parking lot at 1125 N. 3rd Avenue.
